The Breeder agrees to sell this Maine Coon Kitten/Cat (referred to hereafter as ďcat) described below to the Purchaser:
This Purebred Maine Coon Cat is sold as a pet to be cared for in the Purchaserís home and given frequent, kind human attention. The Purchaser agrees not to breed this cat, and to have it altered before the age of nine months.
The Breeder will furnish the Purchaser the catís registration slip upon receipt of documentation from the veterinarian performing the neuter/spay operation. This cat is being sold as a PET only and may not be shown without a separate contract from the Breeder.
The Purchaser agrees not to sell the cat, give the cat away, abandon the cat or give the cat to a shelter, pet store or laboratory / research facility of any kind without giving the Breeder the option of repurchasing the cat, or assisting in placing the cat in a new home.
The Purchaser agrees to have the cat vaccinated as recommended by his veterinarian with a 3-way FVRP vaccine at age 16 weeks and to have the cat examined yearly by a licensed veterinarian, and also agrees that the cat will never be denied needed medical attention. If the Purchaser is unsure whether the cat is in need of medical attention, a licensed veterinarian should be consulted, the situation explained, and the veterinarianís advice acted upon.
The Purchaser agrees that the cat will not be allowed outdoors unless confined to a carrier, or on a leash under close supervision, or in a completely enclosed porch. The Purchaser agrees to giving the cat the proper diet and fresh water. The Purchaser agrees NOT TO HAVE THIS CAT DECLAWED and to routinely clip the cats claws and provide a scratching post.
The Breeder represents that this cat is to the best of her knowledge, healthy at the time of sale and has had the inoculations shown on the health record below.
The Breeder provides the following Health guarantee:
At the time of delivery, the cat is guaranteed to be FeLV and FIV negative and free from viral and bacteria diseases, fungus infections and internal and external parasites.
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE ABOVE GUARANTEE, THE PURCHASER MUST HAVE THE CAT EXAMINED BY A VETERINARIAN WITHIN 72 HOURS (AT THE PURCHASERíS EXPENSE) OF DELIVERY, EXCLUDING SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS, OR HOLIDAYS.
If at this examination, the cat is found to have any of the conditions stated above and in the opinion of the veterinarian, the condition was present at the time of delivery, the Breeder will be notified immediately and will, upon receipt of a written statement from the examining veterinarian, that the condition was present at the time of delivery, pay the cost of the medical treatment necessary to correct the condition, up to the purchase price only of the cat. The breeder shall have the option of having the cat examined and treated by her own veterinarian. The Purchaser shall also have the option to return the cat to the Breeder for a full refund.
All Health Guarantees are void if the cat is given the FELV or FIP vaccine.
The Breeder offers no guarantee other than that contained in this agreement. The liability of the Breeder, under this guarantee shall not exceed the purchase price of the Animal.
This agreement between Purchaser and Breeder is legal and binding. It is the intent of the Breeder and the Purchaser that this agreement shall constitute a legally binding contract, representing the entire agreement between both parties. Neither party shall have the right to modify it except by mutual agreement in writing.
By signing this agreement the Purchaser acknowledges that he/she has read, fully understands, agrees to and has received a copy of this agreement.
